TEN Degrees Chocolate is a family owned and operated bean-to-bar chocolate factory with a unique café and dessert lounge. In addition to selling fine chocolate and bonbons, TEN Degrees Chocolate offers an elevated pastry, café and bistro experience involving chocolate. Our location in Mount Royal Village East is in the heart of Calgary’s culinary atmosphere where we deliver a quality chocolate experience for our guests.

Chocolatier/Apprentice Chocolate Maker

This role is one for those who have refined their taste buds and love fine food and above all fine chocolate. You will learn the history of chocolate, the flavour profiles and the hands-on approach to making chocolate from the raw bean. Training includes shadowing as well as on-line research, and hands on application. You will learn the process of evaluating beans upon arrival through cut tests, sorting raw beans, roasting, cracking and winnowing. You will further learn the nuances of when the chocolate is ready to take off according to texture, particle size and taste. In addition to learning the craft of bean to bar, you will bring your culinary experience as a pastry chef, or chocolatier to develop new creations and follow recipes making bon bons, through various methods. This role requires you to temper, enrobe, panning and other confectionary and candy making methods, as well as packaging final products.

Shift Supervisor, Bistro/Cafe/Retail

You will provide leadership and oversee the café, bistro retail associates, in addition to applying your expertise as a barista, mixologist, and retail associate. As a leader in the organization you must have excellent relationship skills at all levels and in all interactions. Throughout the day you will be making coffee, espresso and chocolate drinks, and
cocktails, while also preparing, heating and finishing food items. Additionally, you will be ensuring inventory levels are met, restocking, cleaning and responding to guests’ questions in thoughtful detail. You will work with the team to provide timely, professional and warm service to each guest who walks through the door.

Chocolate Experience Ambassador Barista – Retail Associate Full-Time

Throughout your eight-hour shift you will be making coffee, espresso, chocolate drinks, and cocktails, while also preparing, heating and finishing food items. You will be restocking, cleaning and responding to guests’ questions in thoughtful detail.
